Delta Air Lines announced this morning it’s cutting chunks of its schedule because of the coronavirus outbreak. Both domestic and international routes are affected.
The carrier said international capacity will see a 20-25 percent decrease. Domestically, the airline is cutting capacity by 10-15. Delta will “make adjustments to planned capacity as demand trends change,” it said.
By region, reductions include:
Financially, Delta said it will defer $500 million in capital expenditures, delay $500 million of voluntary pension funding, and suspend share repurchases.
I’m curious if any of the upper level, C-suite personnel are deferring their salaries to help “rank-and-file” employees pay their essential living expenses.
