Virgin Atlantic is suspending flights by 80% — and that’s if UK airports don’t close. On a brighter note, Disneyland isn’t letting food go to waste after shutting down the part for the next two weeks.
Those were some of today’s travel, aviation, and tourism headlines that pinged my radar.
Big Flight Cuts at Virgin Atlantic
Ben/Lucky at OMAAT wrote today about Virgin Atlantic slashing their flights by 80% and grounding 85% of their fleet.
In somewhat related news:
UK Airports May Have to Close
The British government is encouraging people to not travel — and that could mean UK airports have to close “within weeks.”

Disney Does Good
After shuttering Disneyland last week, the park is donating its leftover food to a foodbank.

Coronavirus Scare on Delta Flight
Delta 2503 was delayed several hours last night when a passenger discovered they were exposed to might have been exposed to someone infected with coronavirus. It’s nice the passenger said something — as opposed to the person on a recent JetBlue flight who has coronavirus and didn’t say anything.

On a different subject. I have looked at the bookings on several routes for both American and Delta. On one route both companies had about 7 or 8 flights between the same 2 cities. I looked at a flights for the next day to get a last minute feel. You could put all of the people booked for the whole day on just one airplane. Why are they wasting money on those other 6 flights. Why hasn’t the board of directors said enough is enough, make the cuts you stated at Delta and have yet to at American. From a shareholders stand point and tax payer who will be helping bail them out start making smart business decisions.
