A Virgin Australia flight attendant gave a poignant speech to her passengers and coworkers after their flight touched down.

Today has been a hard day for us all. We truly believe it is our people that make a difference. Cassy, one of our New Zealand based Cabin Supervisors, put into words what many of us haven’t been able to today. Kia kaha to all our Kiwi #VirginFamily ❤️💜 pic.twitter.com/difc6IWj9G

Wow. I don’t know about you but there’s something in my eyes…
The airline — which just furloughed 80% of its workforce and slashed 90% of its domestic operations — is also in a deepening rift with Qantas. So there’s a lot going on emotionally with Virgin Australia.
So many of us love flying — and miss it right now. On top of that, there’s a frustrating and frightening sense of uncertainty: health, money, and jobs aren’t guaranteed for a lot of people (myself included).
Cassy’s speech really wasn’t just about air travel. It also displayed the fear and sadness many of us feel. To paraphrase her closing words, hopefully, we’ll all be back flying — literally or metaphorically — very soon.
