Here’s some insight as to when Disney theme parks may reopen: Walt Disney World and Disneyland hotels are taking reservations for June 1 and after.
One could deduce that Disney sees June 1 — plus or minus a day — a target date for reopening their parks’ gates.
Theme Park Insider’s Rober Niles writes, “By taking reservations from June 1 on, now Disney guests can continue to play the planning lottery, placing their bets on when they think the resorts will be operational again.”
Meanwhile, the Orange Country Register says that “Disneyland hotel guests with existing travel dates prior to June 1 or who canceled reservations due to the coronavirus closure are eligible for a ‘special offer’ on rooms from June 1 to Dec. 31. The special offer is a $50 per night resort credit that can be combined with a new room rate on stays after June 1.”
The paper also reported the hotel closures could cost the Mouse about $140 million.
