Food delivery services such as Grubhub, DoorDash, and Uber Eats are more valuable than ever for those of us staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

My family enjoys cooking our own meals — but we occasionally need a break and order in. We save money thanks to starting our orders through cashback portals!

So if you’re looking to save a few bucks while having food delivered, check out these cashback deals!
Please note that these amounts sometimes fluctuate based on deals and service provider participation.

DoorDash

Top Cashback offers new customers $15 cashback on their first DoorDash order.

Grubhub

Top Cashback is the clear winner here. It offers 20% cashback on a new customer’s first order. Returning customers, meanwhile, earn 2%.

Rakuten rewards new Grubhub customers 10% cashback for a new customer’s first order. Returning customers get 1% cashback.

BeFrugal offers $5 cashback for a new customer’s first order. (Usually $3.) No offer for returning customers.

MealPal

I’ve never used MealPal. It sounds interesting, though. If you’re a MealPal customer, please tell us in the Comments section what your experience has been.

Anyway, new MealPal customers earn $20 cashback with Dosh.

Rakuten, meanwhile, awards 10% to new customers. Existing customers get 5%.

Postmates

New customers earn $9 with Rakuten. Returning customers receive $.90 cashback per order.

Need a sweet pick-me-up? Order yourself some ice cream — and save money!

Uber Eats

Both BeFrugal and Top Cashback offer $15 cashback on a new customer’s first order. Not all cities are eligible, so check the cashback provider’s fine print.

Dosh offers 5% cashback to new customers. Rakuten gives new and returning customers 4% (H/T Carl). So unless you plan on dropping $300 on your first Uber Eats order, go with BeFrugal or TopCashback.

Seamless

If you’re a new Seamless customer, get $5 back when ordering through Top Cashback.

Don’t Forget About Other Restaurants!

Many restaurants now offer delivery service — and participate in cashback portals. Make sure check to your cashback portals before ordering directly from restaurants, too!

Stack with Credit Card Offers and Credits!

Remember that cashback portals savings stack with credit card promotions and perks. This goes for Amex Offers, Chase offers, and monthly statement credits.

For example, American Express Gold Card holders enjoy monthly $10 statement credits at a number of food merchants, including Grubhub and Seamless. So if you’re new to, say, Grubhub and hold the Amex Gold Card, you’ll get 20% cashback when starting your order through Top CashbackPlus, you’ll receive a $10 statement credit. Make sense?

Platinum Card from American Express members receive $15 of Uber Cash each month. The credit can be used for either Uber or Uber Eats. The Uber Cash credit expires if not used so make sure to use it.

Last but not least, Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers enjoy $60 in Door Dash credit during 2020 and 2021.

Earn More Money — Sign Up for New Cashback Programs!

If you haven’t yet signed up for a cashback service but regularly use others, this could be a great opportunity to earn your sign up bonus on one order — plus more cashback!

For example, if you usually use Rakuten but aren’t a BeFrugal member, sign up for the little piggy and score yourself some money.

Bon appetite and savings!

    • @Carl: Unless I’m missing something or Dosh messed with my just my app, it’s only new customers. (Click for an image)

I swear Rakukten was 5% and for new customers only late yesterday! 🙂 Thanks for the correction — I amended the post to reflect the change.
