There’s a potentially lucrative offer awarding targeted Dosh users 3% back on Staples.com purchases!
Please see this post. Gift cards are no longer triggering the cash back promotion and now are explicitly ineligible.
You can earn up to $20 per day cashback while the promotion runs. (We don’t see any expiration date listed — so hurry before it goes away.) But if you max out the promotion as long as it runs, you can really come out ahead.
We can confirm the offer works on gift card purchases!
This is a great opportunity to save or earn money while staying at home! Plus, you can earn credit card points. This is also a great way to help knock out credit card minimum spend requirements.
Check To See If You’re Targeted
First, make sure you’re a Dosh member. (This is our referral link if you need to sign up – thank you!). Dosh is great — especially for earning cashback on dining purchases.
Then, flip through the home screen’s offers
Gift cards are a great way to go.
In the above example, you can get $600 in gift cards and end up saving a few bucks. Plus, you’ll earn any applicable credit card points.
Which Credit Cards to Use?
The Chase Ink Business Cash Visa card is the best option because it rewards 5% cashback (or 5X Ultimate Rewards points) on purchases made through office supply stores (such as Staples and Staples.com). Transfer those points to your Chase Sapphire Reserve and they’re suddenly worth 7.5 cents each when redeeming them for travel purchases through Chase. (Or send ’em to a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Ink Preferred; they’ll be worth 6.25 cents per when redeemed through Chase travel.)
Outside of that, anything giving you at least 1.5% is a nice option. Or if you need to spend threshold for a credit card, this promotion can help.
Happy Dosh-ing, shopping, and saving!

It generally takes about 10-14 days to get the cards. Do you think now is a good time to be doing MS????
@John: Everyone’s circumstances are different. Some people aren’t bothered by the 10-14 days. Don’t worry about them.
Plus, people use gift cards for different reasons. In this case, we can register the Visa gift cards online when we receive them — and then use those cards to pay bills. Staples also sells plenty of other gift cards. And office supplies. And bottled water. And snacks. And…
@John – If I can I will crush this. Save cards. Dump in May when bug gone. Or do you expect 12 months in-doors? Oh my CC bill comes next month. Yours?
Both of you guys are great. Rene, we both love our NCL cruises Most of us are in the points game and rarely use these cards to do anything but get a money order. Right now is just not a good time to be flushing gift cards. I am extremely fortunate in my finances that we are ok inspire of economy. Most people are not. We should be sensitive to those at this time.
@John: I get what you’re saying —- and thanks for your comment. Something great with a promo like this is we can buy the VGCs at a discount then use them for purchases that aren’t usually bonused (rent, utilities, etc.). Or buy other gift cards (ebay, Home Depot, Petco, etc).
Again, it’s sort of a to each their own sort of thing.
haven’t used Dosh before, how long does it take to get the 5% credit and how do you get the credit ? can you transfer it to your bank account or can you get some Dosh credit that u can apply towards a future purchase?
@nfd – You have to get $25 before you can cash out (ie two days of the deal if you buy as shown above). It then is sent to a debit card you have on file with DO$H. Simple.
