Southwest won four 2020 Freddie Awards, announced tonight by Randy Petersen who founded the Freddie Awards, Boarding Area, FlyerTalk, and…. 🙂 .
The Airline of Love received the Americas’ Airline Program of the Year, Best Airline Redemption Availability, Best Airline Customer Service, and Best Loyalty Credit Card (for the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card from Chase).
Southwest narrowly missed a fifth Freddie, losing Best Airline Promotion to Avianca LifeMiles’ TudoAzul Itaucard Rewards Spending.

Marriott scored three awards, taking home Program of the Year (for Bonoy), Best Promotion, and Best Redemption Ability.
M life Rewards scored a dark horse victory with Best Hotel Customer Service.
American Airlines’ AAdvantage won Best Elite Program of the Year. World of Hyatt received the Best Hotel Elite Program award.
Delta barely showed, finishing fourth in Best Airline Customer Service and Best Airline Promotion (SkyMiles Flash Sale — many of which were pretty decent) and second in Best Airline Elite Program.
Internationally, Accor swept Europe & Africa’s hotel categories, while Choice Hotels was honored with the 210 Award. (The 210 Awards is presented to a program that “may not yet be on the radar of as many frequent travelers.)
Virgin Australia swept the airline competition in the Middle East & Asia/Oceania regions. A full list of winners and their virtual award ceremonies are available below.
