Looking to lounge around today or tomorrow and enjoy a good book? (After you’re done reading all of this week’s Rene’s Points posts, of course 😉 ).
Kindle Chase Offer
Cardmembers who receive and add the offer (similar to Amex Offers) receive a one-time 20% credit on their purchase of a Kindle book. There is a limit of $2 back. But if you enjoy reading and were going to buy books anyway, it’s pretty much a free two bucks. (Kindle devices aren’t eligible for this promotion.)
Kindle Unlimited is a subscription service that gives you access to thousands of books for a monthly fee. You can have up to ten downloaded ten at a time.
The only catch is that not every book on Amazon is available on Kindle Unlimited. That being said, there are some great titles available. Lonely Planet has a ton of stuff. I was delighted that Henry Bushkin’s book about his work with Jonny Carson is available on Kindle Unlimited. Some of the current best-sellers — like If You Tell: A True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood and The Dressmaker’s Gift are on Kindle Unlimited.
The nice thing here is you have 30 days to test out Kindle Unlimited. If you don’t like it, cancel the trial. But if you enjoy it and want to continue, you’ll get the 20% statement credit — as long as you sign up before June 1 and your first payment is made by July 1 (as per the offer’s verbiage).
Happy reading and saving!
