Several US travel destinations are expected to see a surge in tourists during Labor Day Weekend. (Lucky them?)
Plus, Venetians are planning a big party — to celebrate certain people not visiting their city.
Those are some of today’s travel headlines I thought you, too, may find interesting.
Where are Americans Going During Labor Day?
Travel + Leisure reports Florida and Hawaii are two US destinations experiencing big increases in inbound flight bookings for Labor Day. (Look out, Your Mileage May Vary: Orlando is the state’s top destination — and third overall in the US!)
Las Vegas, meanwhile, is the country’s number one destination. Denver, Orlando, Chicago, and Seattle round out the top five.
I was surprised to see Hawaii on the list. But T+L says:
“[A]ccording to the Hawai‘i Department of Health, the state has seen a recent uptick and reinstated a mandatory quarantine for people traveling between most islands. The state does plan to implement a pre-testing program that would allow out-of-state visitors to skip Hawaii’s quarantine starting Sept. 1.”
