With the news that Delta is keeping middle seats open through January 6, 2021, US domestic mileage runs look more appealing for those willing to fly. And Delta Basic Economy fares can make them very affordable while (allegedly) guaranteeing an open seat next to you.

We found this LAX to Orlando mileage run for early November. It nets 5,592 MQM for only $105.20 in Delta Basic Economy. That prices out to just 1.9 CPM!

If you want a shot at upgrades or need a bulkhead or emergency exit row seat — which is certainly understandable, given this involves a redeye — you can upgrade to Main Cabin for $50 more. That brings the CPM to 2.8.

There are different dates and routings available. (Start your search here at Google Flights.) But here’s the one we think gets you the most bang for your buck.

  • Cost: $105.20 in Basic Economy
  • Dates: November 2020
  • Route: LAX-CVG-MCO-DTW-LAX
  • MQM: 5,592 ($105.20)
  • MQD: $76
  • Base SkyMiles: 380

Keep in mind Delta is waiving change fees on tickets purchased through September 30, 2020.
