Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian seems to have a glass-is-half-full attitude when it comes to how long it’ll take for Delta to get back to normal-ish.

Plus, Air Force 2 bird strike just after takeoff!

Those are some of today’s travel headlines I thought you, too, may find interesting.

“Two-Year Journey”

Skift reports that Delta CEO Ed Bastian thinks it’ll be a “’two-year journey’ before its operation resembles its pre-pandemic structure.”

That’s certainly more optimistic that some predicted for the industry as a whole.

I really hope he’s right.

    I agree on ‘a glass-is-half-full attitude’.

This is what I am looking at:

‘How Long Will It Take For the Airline Industry to Recover?

Estimates vary widely from 4 to 9 years depending on the source.

Leeham’s best case is 2024 and worse case is 2029.’
