American Express announced a number of statement credit opportunities earlier this year. One of them was a monthly, if-used $20 statement credit for Business Platinum from American Express cardholders who use their card for eligible shipping purchases.
Not everyone makes shipping purchases directly with, say, UPS or FedEx online or at their service centers.
But if you need something from a UPS Store — shipping, packing supplies, a passport picture, notary services, mailbox renewal, whatever — the monthly shipping credit can save you a few bucks.
I tested this out because I wanted to confirm that UPS Stores weren’t some crazy exclusion from the Business Platinum from American Express‘ shipping credit benefit.
I recently paid for a mailbox renewal at a UPS Store and used my Business Platinum from American Express for the purchase.
Right as rain, I received a $20 statement credit within a few days.
Good for the Upcoming Holidays!
Many of us ship gifts during the winter holidays. But because fewer people will travel this holiday season than in years past, I think we’ll be making more shipments than usual.
So keep this in mind during the next few months. If you don’t use your shipping credit buying Forever Stamps, consider saving yourself a few bucks with purchases at your UPS Store or FedEx Office.
Because UPS Stores are franchised retail locations, I wasn’t sure if purchases there were eligible for the Business Platinum’s shipping credit. But it’s good to confirm they do, in fact, work.
