A new Macy’s Amex Offer came across our radar this morning — and gift purchases made online trigger the credit!

The offer gives targeted American Express cardholders (who add the offer, of course) a one-time $10 statement credit when using their card to spend at least $60 in one or more transactions online at Macys.com or in-store at Macy’s. (I added it to my American Express Gold Card.)

There are a number of excluded locations, though, including:

Nespresso boutiques, pop-up stores, parking garages, USPS, Stride Rite, Macy’s Bridal Salons, Macy’s Wine Cellar, Macy’s Travel, Visit Macy’s, Shop For a Cause, New Zoom kiosks/vending machines, restaurants and third party branded shops inside stores, delivery services, WorryNoMore Protection service, Nineteenth Amendment, Men’s Wearhouse Tuxedo Shops, Macy’s Shop at Home and design services and corporate sales.

This promotion expires on December 31, 2020. So it provides you a chance to start stocking up on gifts.

Speaking of which —

Macy’s Gift Card Purchases Trigger the Offer!

I purchased a $60 Macy’s e-gift card this morning. Within a few seconds, I received the “Congratulations!” email from American Express.

If there’s a Macy’s shopper in your life, you may want to consider purchasing a gift card for him or her — and giving it as a gift this Christmas season.

Remember to Stack!

If you shop online, don’t forget to start your session at TopCashback or Rakuten. You likely won’t receive cashback for a gift card purchase. But if you buy merchandise, you should enjoy some extra savings in the long run.

    • Maybe in-store? Worth noting, though, that the T&Cs say prepaid products are exempt. But Macy’s GCs apparently work.
