With Hurricane Zeta setting its sights on the United States Gulf Coast, Delta has issued a weather advisory/waiver for nine airports. (We’re burning through the Greek alphabet when it comes to naming hurricanes and tropical storms. It was only a few weeks ago we were at Delta for D. We’re now at Zeta for Z. 😉 )
- Alexandria, LA (AEX)
- Baton Rouge, LA (BTR)
- Fort Walton Beach, FL (VPS)
- Gulfport, MS (GPT)
- Lafayette, LA (LFT)
- Mobile, AL (MOB)
- New Orleans, LA (MSY)
- Panama City, FL (ECP)
- Pensacola, FL (PNS)
The impacted travel dates are Wednesday, October 28 – Thursday, October 29. Tickets must be reissued by Sunday, November 1. Rebooked travel must begin no later than the 1st, as well.
Delta (the airline) says that when “rebooked travel occurs on or before November 1, 2020 in the same cabin of service as originally booked, the fare difference will be waived.”
Plus, it waived change fees for most domestic tickets. If your ticket somehow doesn’t qualify (i.e. Basic Economy), this could give you a little extra protection.

zeta is the 6th letter in the greek alphabet. after delta, we’ve only “burned” through epsilon.
It’s all Greek to me.
@Chris – LOL oh that is bad. 🙂
I wanted to try that line out before posting it — but couldn’t find any Beta testers. I’d ask my Gamma but she passed away about 15 years ago.
