Well it turns out the recent viral TikTok video of a man cooking a steak in a Delta toilet was a FAKE and Rome will offer COVID-tested flights on Delta and Alitalia.

We’ll get to those headlines and several more in a few minutes. But first, here’s a quick recap of this past week at Rene’s Points!

The Platinum Card from American Express is running some fairly substantial welcome offers right now. These statement credits may help you decide if you should apply for the card or not.

How’s this for terrifying? An American Airlines flight (apparently operated by Envoy Air) turned around Saturday when its windshield was seriously damaged after striking something mid-flight.

The Uber-American Express lovefest continues — with a new Uber Eats Amex Offer awarding 9 bonus Membership Rewards points per dollar spent!

It turns out the TikTok video, that was very creatively done (HT to VFTW) by comedian Marcus Monroe, was in fact faked. There was NO fire and the look of the fire was created with led lighting like these with a remote control.

Even though we now know it was faked, it still was very gross to put anything into an airline toilet. Plus, what if the light had been accidently flushed – what damage would that have caused to the jet?

What do you think of this TikTok stunt? Creative or gross or dangerous?
