American Express rewarded some of its loyal members today — giving them a bunch of statement credit and points bonus promotions on several co-branded Delta, Hilton, and Marriott cards.

Most consumer/personal cards received offers for dining purchase credit. Most business cards received US wireless service statement credit promotions.

These are Amex Offers — so you must manually them to your card(s).

Open to Certain Cardholders

According to Amex, these offers are open only to “eligible Delta SkyMiles or Hilton Honors or Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card Member as of January 1, 2021.” So if, for example, you procrastinated and didn’t pull the trigger until the last minute on the recent Marriott Amex promotion, you won’t be targeted.

Delta American Express Cards

Spoiler alert: the no-annual-fee Delta SkyMiles Blue American Express Card wasn’t included.

Consumer/Personal Cards

The consumer/personal flavors of the Delta Amex cards received these offers:

$20 dining credit for Delta Reserve Amex Business card.

Business Cards

Meanwhile, here’s what members of the Delta SkyMiles business cards can add:

$20 US wireless provider credit for Delta Reserve Amex Business card.

5X x 1 Card Only

The 5X total SkyMiles offer may be added to only one Delta Amex in your stable. So if you have multiple Delta SkyMiles Amexes on your account, pick the card you’ll use most for Delta purchases this year. (I added it to my Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business American Express Card.)

Bonus SkyMiles for Delta Amex offer.

Final Approach

Bravo to Amex and their co-branded partners for creating these promotions. They go a long way toward recouping annual fees, saving money overall, and generating points.

  1. This was a pleasant surprise because it was a very difficult decision to decide to keep my Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business card this year. It will also be very easy to take advantage of the $220 wireless credit without doing anything special.

I am less than 20,000 miles from my first million miler qualification, and I doubt that I would be able to achieve it this year without MQMs from an AMEX card. However, I am a little bummed that I will probably go over a million based on card spend instead of a flight. And of course, million miler awards are suspended ATM.

  2. Curious if re-loading your Starbucks card online will trigger the dining credits. Will report back if I test before others.

    • I just checked my Amex Gold Card activity from summer 2020. That’s the last time I reloaded my Starbucks card through the app; the charge coded as “Global Restaurants” and earned 4X. So I’m guessing a reload would work.
