If you hold a Platinum Card from American Express and/or a Business Platinum Card from American Express, today’s a good opportunity to use some of your biannual statement credits!
Rakuten is running a President’s Day promotion, awarding 10% cashback (or 10X Membership Rewards) at over 200 stores — including Saks Fifth Avenue and Dell.
Amex Platinum (personal/consumer) members can earn up to $50 in statement credit (January – June) at Saks Fifth Avenue. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Meanwhile, Amex Business Platinum cardholders receive up to $100 in statement credit (from January to June) to use at Dell. Keep in mind Dell sells more than just computers. I used my credit to basically get paid to purchase a TV last year.
We occasionally see slightly higher earning rates for Saks and Dell both through Rakuten and other cashback portals. But if those promotions pop up again later in the year, the most you’d miss you miss out on then is probably $2-$5. But you’re not losing anything out of pocket.
So if you want to use your credits before you forget about them head to Rakuten today and take advantage of their promotion.
And, uh, Happy Presidents Day.

Is there a Roth fund that I can use my American Express for?
If you have a Charles Schwab account AND a Schwab co-branded Amex Platinum card, you can transfer Membership Rewards points to your brokerage account at a rate of 1.25 cents each. Then cash out or transfer the money somewhere else.
