The American Express Business Platinum card has a new, limited-time offer: 100,000 bonus Membership Rewards points after spending $15,000 on purchases within three months of being approved for the card. This is an increase from the 85,000-point bonus that was previously available. (And it seems the 110k referral offer is dead?)

The Benefits-Packed Business Platinum Card from American Express

I’ve praised getting The Business Platinum Card from American Express as some of the best points-related advice René has ever given me.

Air Travel Benefits

Rebate on Airfares Booked with Membership Rewards Points!

One of the benefits I love most is the 35% Membership Rewards rebate valid for certain airfares booked through AmexTravel.com. Each year, you select an airline (we’ll say Delta). And whenever you use Membership Rewards points to pay for some or all of a Delta flight purchased through Amex, you receive 35% of those points back. Plus, those tickets code as cash fares, entitling you to MQM, MQD, SkyMiles, and any applicable elite Medallion perks.

The 35% rebate is also available for any first class airline ticket booked through Amex Travel — regardless of airline.

Plus, you’ll earn 5X on airline and pre-paid hotel purchases through AmexTravel.com

Other Perks and Credits

Enroll to get up to $200 in statement credits annually ($100 semi-annually) for U.S. purchases with Dell. Remember, Dell sells more than computers!

Annual Fee

The card carries a $595 annual fee.

Quick Summary

First things first: $15,000 in minimum spend to reach a welcome bonus is a lot of money. But Amex Business Platinum card welcome bonuses generally require a hefty amount of spend for their welcome bonuses. If you have quarterly taxes to pay (’tis the season…), that could be a quick way to knock out a bunch of spending.

The daily bonus point earnings on this card are nothing exceptional. I have and love this card — pretty much for the benefits only. But I still find it worth the nearly $600 annual fee.
