The path has been cleared for Las Vegas to fully open up just in time for summer.

Plus, police are having to be called to London Heathrow — because passengers are cranky with the six-hour immigration lines.

Those are some of the day’s travel headlines I thought you, too, may find interesting.

Las Vegas Could Open to Full Capacity on June 1

Fellow Sin City enthusiasts: rejoice! According to the Las Vegas Sun, Vegas is on track to reopen to full capacity on June 1.

A sign inside Terminal D welcomes passengers to Clark County and Las Vegas at McCarran Airport (LAS).

It’s great news for the city cursed with “the hardest-hit metro economy in America.”

The Sun reports that a “statewide mask mandate will remain in effect for now, and [Nevada Governor Steve] Sisolak stated it’s too early to tell when that may be removed.”

Cops Called to Heathrow — Because of Immigration Waits

It seems the natives are restless. So are the international travelers.

Immigration waits at London Heathrow are reportedly lasting anywhere between two and six hours. That’s made some tempers flare. The Evening Standard says police have stepped in to help keep things under control.

Note to self: Heathrow mileage runs are probably a no-go for the next few months…

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak on 4 March 2021 announced that he expects every county in the state to be able to fully reopen at 100% capacity by June 1.

  2. “Fully open”. LOL
Not until masks come off. People go to Vegas to be free and escape normal life. ..for a few days until Vegas becomes too much. Venues might be open but these silly mask rules do not allow truly “open” experience. Better than before but we’ll see.
