A pair of new MGM Resorts Amex Offers are available across several American Express cards! The stacking benefits with Rakuten and World of Hyatt make these particularly interesting for folks needing a getaway to an M Life property.

MGM Resorts Amex Offers

The two offers target different properties.

One is labeled “Select Destinations” and applies to hotels more budget-friendly than their higher-end counterparts:

  • New York-New York
  • Luxor
  • Excalibur
  • Beau Rivage
  • Gold Strike
  • Borgata
  • MGM National Harbor
  • MGM Springfield

Cardholders receive a one-time $50 statement credit when spending at least $250 in one or more transactions on room rates and room charges. The offer expires on August 1, 2021.

New York-New York Resort & Casino, a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada.

The other offer is for “Luxury Destinations.” Included in this promotion are:

  • Bellagio
  • ARIA
  • Vdara
  • MGM Grand Las Vegas
  • The Signature at MGM Grand
  • Mandalay Bay
  • Delano Las Vegas
  • Park MGM
  • NoMad Las Vegas
  • The Mirage
The Delano Beach Club and pool at Delano Las Vegas in Paradise, Nevada.

The promotion doubles both the reward and spending requirement. Cardholders receive a one-time $100 statement credit when spending at least $500 in one or more transactions on room rates and room charges. Just like the “Select Destinations” MGM Resorts Amex Offer, this expires on August 1, 2021.

Cardholders must manually enroll in the offers via their Amex accounts.

Reservations must be booked directly through MGM Resorts via its website, app, or phone reservations center.

Which Cards are Eligible?

None of my cobranded cards received the offers. But my wife and I received both offers on these cards:

If you carry an American Express® Green Card, remember that travel purchases (such as hotels) earn 3X. So you could save yourself a few bucks and earn triple points.

Stack with Rakuten!

MGM Resorts is a Rakuten merchant. Start your booking through Rakuten and then click through to MGM Resorts. The going rate as of this post was 2.5% cashback. Nothing too exciting — but if you max out the $250 offer, you should get $6.25 back. That’ll get you a small bottle of water at a Vegas hotel gift shop 😉 .

Earn World of Hyatt Points and M Life Points!

Keep in mind the World of Hyatt and M Life (MGM Resorts’ loyalty program) partnership. Even if you don’t have elite status with either program, it’s still worth the time to link your accounts and earn points for each stay.

If you’re like me and love Las Vegas, remember that the World of Hyatt Credit Card‘s anniversary night benefit is redeemable at a few MGM Resorts properties. And World of Hyatt points can be redeemed for stays on the Strip.

Final Approach

A pair of new MGM Resorts Amex Offers are available for several different American Express cards. Unfortunately, the offers can’t be stacked with each other (oh, the days when they could). But on top of saving some money on your stay, you can earn cashback through Rakuten and score some World of Hyatt points, too.
