The New York to Quito AeroMexico mileage runs are back!

It’s a business class trip in AeroMexico “I” class. The run flies JFK-MEX-UIO-MEX-JFK. We’re seeing prices as low as $749.18. The trip is estimated to travel 8,074 miles — so you should earn $3239 MQD when crediting the run to your Delta SkyMiles account number. (That’s an MQD return of about 430% of your investment!)

Plus, you can expect about 12,148 MQM and 16,196 redeemable SkyMiles (before any applicable Medallion bonuses).

There are a few scattered dates available during 2021 (mostly in December). But January and February have several available dates — which is great news for many people. We’re hearing from more and more Medallions planning to drop down a status level (or more) to start 2022, roll over a bunch of MQM, and then jump on Delta partner runs to quickly earn higher Medallion status ASAP in January or February.

Here’s an example trip:

JFK to Quito, Ecuador AeroMexico business class mileage run

Notice the first flight is scheduled on a Boeing 787! (Lie-flats, baby!)

Your business class ticket should give you access to the Sala Lounge in Quito (read Rene’s review), as well as AeroMexico’s Salon Premier Lounges in Mexico City. (René reviewed one a few years ago.) If you hold The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, you can visit the Centurion Lounge in Mexico City (read Rene’s review).

Some itineraries have overnight layovers in Mexico City — so just beware of that.

Hurry!

AeroMexico sometimes pulls these deals soon after we post them. So book quickly if you want to do the run.

Where to Book

René usually starts TopCashback and then books through JustFly or Priceline. AeroMexico flights purchased through those OTA generally code as AeroMexico tickets — which is great if you pay with The Platinum Card® from American Express (5X points) or the American Express® Gold Card (3X). Or maybe consider using a Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Ink Preferred (3X on travel), to name but a few.

Don’t pay for seats. Once you book your trip, take your AeroMexico PNR and go into AeroMexico’s website to select your seats.

Or if you’d rather have someone else book everything — and monitor your itinerary for those infamous AeroMexico flight changes — ask our friends at Juicy Miles to do the heavy lifting for you.
