Clearly Delta has worked hard with their catering partners to provide quality choices and it shows. This latest meal choice is no exception. You would think a small-ish steak would be destroyed by an airline but then you don’t fly Delta. This was truly impressive. If I had to be super nit picky I would say it was a smidgen over cooked but again that is more a preference than an issue. From the grill marks to the flavor and quality of the cut all were just the BEST. If you…
I am in the middle of a vacation/mileage run and spending a day or so flying around and had a chance to let Delta feed me all day long in 1st class and thought I would share some thoughts.

There are a number of Delta (or I should say Delta “painted” jets) that either do not have ovens or do not use them. Thus you end up often with either one or two cold meal choices. On of them is what you see above and I really liked it. 3 Cheese Pasta Dinner Steak and Potatoes Cold Salmon with Rice Turkey Salad Asian Chicken Salad Turkey Sandwich Chicken Salad & Pasta side Lemon Chicken (nasty – AVOID) Meatballs with spinach & ricotta cheese Italian Chicken Panini First off, the size was just fine as a lunch choice but would have been good for dinner as well. There was a good mix of greens including a slice of lime on the side for a tiny punch of citrus. That is nice attention to detail. The chicken was cooked well and a decent quantity was provided. Maybe one more strip would…
I really thought about making this one a Rookie Wednesday post, but some of these points don’t really fit that way so let’s rock this out today as these are truly stuff I use and use often. They help me in my air / hotel / and travel in general. Some are huge money savers while others are either time savers or just kool (well I think they are kool anyway). Let’s see what you think about my ideas? 1) HUCB. This is a must know for anyone and should be your default way of thinking. Never take NO for an answer (at least the first time around). Hang Up Call Back (or call again) must be driven deep into your mind. When someone says they can’t do whatever then I will find the someone who can. It is that simple. 2) Teamboardlast. I cannot tell you how many times…

I like fish. I love tuna. I like salmon if prepared right. Being of Swedish ancestry I have no problem with all kinds of cold seafood. Cold fish can be quite nice but it surprised me this dish was served cold by Delta as it could have been quite good warm as well. Either way I chose this because the only hot choice was the “furniture polish flavored” lemon chicken that I just cannot stand, but Delta seems to…
