This is a lot of flying and you do have to spend a few days in Hong Kong but that is not really all bad right? I mean it’s Hong Kong (I really need to go). There are so many dates you can play with tinkering with the Google Flights link and dates above with a HT to FT for the find. Oh and don’t forget there is a brand new AMEX Centurion Lounge to enjoy in IAH. There is no spa like in DFW or MIA but I still look forward to some quality time checking it out (yeah, I have booked one of these). Here are the cheapest number in coach: Cost: $341 16,746 MQMs at and astoundingly low 2.1CPM Bookable on Delta.com via Google Flights (tinker with link below) In coach <-LINK I have included the Google Flights or Kayak links and for those of you new…

Wednesday, February 3, 2016  by John @laptoptravel Here is a chance to fly one of the longest non-stops from the USA.  American Airlines operates their Boeing 777 Wide-Body aircraft for the Dallas to Hong Kong flight on this Mileage Run.  You originate in Houston (Hobby Airport) and change planes in Dallas (DFW) It is also a chance to get as many as 34,492 Redeemable AAdvantage Miles (depending on your status) You will earn 17,246 Elite Qualifying Miles with American and if you are already an Elite with their AAdvantage program you can earn bonus miles as follows: Elite Mileage Bonus Benefits Executive Platinum    100% Platinum    100% Gold     25% This could be a great time to contact American Airlines and request a status challenge, if you have not already achieved status with the airline.  Currently the only way I know of to begin, or…

Saturday, November 28, 2015 by John @laptoptravel   It’s a windfall weekend for Mileage Runs, perhaps leading up to Cyber Monday? Let me preface this post by saying I fully understand that a Mileage Run like this may be too much for many. But, I am appealing to two groups of flyers out there. First, some of you may find yourself in a panic of how to get a bunch of Delta MQM’s before the year ends. There are only a few days left; REALLY! And you know you do not want to be flying at the end of the year. NOTE: Please keep in mind your flight must be scheduled to depart by 23:59 on 31DEC15 for it count on THIS YEAR 2015! Secondly, there are people out there who realize that this is a bunch of MQM’s and can easily be rollover miles into next year’s MQM…

From the files of WoW that is a long time in coach, the price on this one can not be beat (with a HT of FT for find). I would tinker with route and pick as MANY legs as you can. Why? If you can possibly bump ANYWHERE along the way, you can just fly home and request route credit and not have to fly it all. I have done this many times in the past successfully. Also keep in mind to use a card like your Delta AMEX that does not charge an UP CHARGE for a foreign transaction fee in CAD. Lastly maybe look at types of jets you will be one and maybe pick a few less points if you like the type of jet better for a coach seat or chance for upgrades on the domestic routes or over sells on the international ones. All stuff…

I am leaving dates out of the titles for runs from this point on as I am done looking for any 2014 runs. If you are short at this point – sorry! This one is not bad at all and for many you can drive say from DTW or BUF or other places and avoid the positioning flights (gas is cheap now after all). It is a ton of time in coach if you don’t have Global Upgrade certs to apply but the price at sub 4CPM does fit what we want to stay under for 2015. Here are the numbers: Cost $628 (current date convert CAD to USD) 18,819 MQMs at 3.3CPM (via ATL or JFK) Bookable on Delta.com I mean, if you are up for it, you can fly this 4 weeks in a row and earn 75,000+ MQMs for $2500-ish! 🙂 Gold-Platinum-Reserve Delta SkyMiles® Credit Cards from…

There are a lot of reason this one is not the best run ever. First, you need 6 days so it is a vacation run. Next, it is from VYR but we can always position. Also it is a LONG time in coach. Lastly HKG is not the best place on earth right now but one would hope by December all would be well. Anyway the price, and the massive Skymiles rebate: Cost $560 – USD (DL cards no INT up charge now btw) 17,847MQMs  at  3.1CPM Bookable on Delta.com DM yields a MASSIVE  40,156 Skymiles per CWSI.net! This is one of those runs where the Skymiles rebate just about pays for the trip but you will have hotel, food and positioning costs to consider! Please let us know if you do this one 😉

This is nuts. I would not want to spend this much time in coach and it is a vacation run as you must stay a bunch of days in Hong Kong! But the numbers are just a crazy. You can, via this FT thread, look at a bunch of starting airports and drive the price well below 4CPM and get a stupid amount of Skymiles on top of the MQMs. Here are the numbers from MIA! Cost $671 19,447 MQMs at 3.45 CPM Bookable on Delta.com Be sure to use this switch to search Matrix:  dl+ /f bc=v DM yields a HUGE 43,757 Skymiles per CWSI.net! Again, I am still complaining about my 8-9 hours in coach each way on my last run. This would be WOW and be sure you count the hotel costs as well! Short of some medallion level? This could sure put you over the top.…
