Well I really should have expected nothing less than the near worthless service SkyBonus has provided during my time in the program. As readers know, I was targeted with a survey from Delta SkyBonus promising me 10,000 bonus points for taking part. However, it seems Delta Air Lines is going to back out on that promise of points for my feedback. I reached out to inquire about the points and was told: “Dear Rene De Lambert, Thank you for contacting SkyBonus. I forwarded your feedback to the SkyBonus team. Unfortunately at this time, your account will close on Thursday. We are not awarding the survey points before then. If your company grows in the future and meets the two minimum requirements of having 5 unique employee travelers and spending $5,000 per year please contact us. Regards, SkyBonus Service Center” Well that is just swell, Delta. Thanks so much for standing…

Oh I love to hate Delta SkyBonus and am so happy they are kicking me, and so many other small business owners who are loyal to Delta, out on 1JAN16. But this latest change just takes the cake. Notice the PDF’s of the OLD award chart from last month and the new award chart Delta has, before the new year, jumped the redemption for Sky Club award by 25%. As is almost always the case, no notice to us loyal flyers nor did they wait until 2016 to make the latest devaluation. Thanks Delta, Keep Descending worthy change. I mean we all should know if we have issues they are not going to get addressed or fixed until after the 1st of the year as you can see from an automated email I got from SkyBonus. Disgusting. I am going to spend my final 30k for HOOU coupons and if…

Oh my dearest Delta. You have really lost it this year <-LINK on Delta.com. I mean I thought the prices for buying Delta MQMs in 2014, and in 2013, and in 2012 were bad but almost $3,000 for 10,000 MQMs is just shameful, embarrassing and frankly disgusting. I warned folks this was on the way and that there are better ways to get MQMs (and much cheaper)! Oh I know some foolish folks will jump on the deal when they could simply for $450 for getting a Delta Reserve card (personal or business) pick up 10,000 MQMs with 1st purchase or for $195 and minimum spend pick up 5,000 MQMs from the Delta Platinum card (personal or business). I can see these new disgusting, ultra Keep Descending worthy,  C+ changes from Delta that have rolled out today are going to take a long series of posts and I will update the list as we go: Fare changes coming to Delta! Comfort+ fares launch on 14NOV15 Preparing for Delta C+ fare class roll-out & medallion “enhancements” Delta WHACKS Medallion C+ perks & 40% LEVEL 1 award upcharge! Delta C+ auto-upgrade sends Delta Diamond Medallion to CENTER SEAT! The Delta upgrade elite’s want to “JUST SAY NO” to. Avoid Delta Comfort+ Delta could “save” many HVC Delta Diamonds with one change! One of the biggest impacts is the ability of elites, even TOP elites, to choose C+ seats for those traveling with them. Apparently Delta is not a fan of families. Let me re-phrase that, Delta is a fan of CHARGING families much more than just a couple as you…

Fare changes coming to Delta! Comfort+ fares launch on 14NOV15 Preparing for Delta C+ fare class roll-out & medallion “enhancements” Delta WHACKS Medallion C+ perks & 40% LEVEL 1 award upcharge! Delta C+ auto-upgrade sends Delta Diamond Medallion to CENTER SEAT! The Delta upgrade elite’s want to “JUST SAY NO” to. Avoid Delta Comfort+ Delta could “save” many HVC Delta Diamonds with one change! The news I have blogged about this week that Delta plans to sell C+ as a fare class has gone live on Delta.com (including selling C+ seats in the air as well). There is some good news (i.e. some non-cuts) but mostly it is all bad news as we have come to expect from Delta. The only good news to befall us for flights on or after 16MAY16: As I speculated, there will be no change to the medallion 1st class upgrades (phew). However the rest…

Airline travel has gone from a time to “dress your best” to folks flying in pajamas. Airline travel used to be dreamy and exciting but has been transformed to now being a drudgery (for many) and to be “gotten over with” as quickly as possible. But something important has been lost and all the cuts Delta has made is much to blame for this. I still LOVE LOVE LOVE to fly. I am at home at the airport and in the air. I love lounges and everything about travel. I daydream about travel. My heart still quickens each time I even SEE a 747 no matter whose logo is on the side of the jet. Maybe you feel the same way as I do. Part of all of this is the experience of business and 1st class travel. It is what dreams are made of and the reason for points.…

You have got to be kidding me. How, dearest Delta, can you keep cutting and cutting and making things worse and worse for us. Notice THIS link to the “Way back Machine” for Delta.com about “Award Ticket FAQs” from last year. Now, take a look at the current one on Delta.com that seems to have changed on or about 22 MAY 2015. Yep, a simple  YES  to  NO  and we potentially have yet one more MASSIVE unannounced Delta #KeepDescending devaluation in our efforts to simply find an award ticket. After all, we are clearly all about spending as few SkyMiles as possible for an award even though Delta is making it REALLY hard for flyers by often times charging them 2 or 3 times what a ticket should cost. The web site is just about worthless for booking and you have to do the work yourself to find seats (see…
