I could do a Delta schedule change Saturday post just about every week as there is hardly EVER a week that goes by that something does not change on us. The regional partners tend to be the worst offenders but that is not to say Delta mainline is not just as guilty. But here is the thing about these changes I so hate: Delta often does not tell us Delta often changes our seats and does not tell us Delta, most times, does not alert us on our trips list at My Delta Changes can mean missed connections We have to often fight to get what we should get free! These really are the main bullet points of why I, in so many ways, hate Delta for what they do when it comes to schedule changes. Oh sure I can go look at a reservation and see the “green wording”…

Yep folks, today we get the joy of BOTH regional and mainline (fake Delta & real Delta) schedule changes. If you need to catch up on what this means take a look at these posts: Delta, you are “startin’ to damage my calm” with all these schedule / equipment changes & NO NOTICE AT ALL! ALERT! Delta schedule change Saturday has struck again! Please check all your flights! Rookie Wednesday: Delta Schedule change = MQM GOLD MINE! Now that you are up to speed, take a look at the photo on top of this post. I was on a mainline 717-200 from ATL to ORD and now Delta has changed it to an MD-88. Not a big deal other than the fact that I got tossed into a MIDDLE SEAT in C+ even though the cabin is all but empty. Now before you even ask, I have in MY DELTA…

Well this was a frustrating Sunday. As you can see from the above we have had yet another round of Delta schedule change Saturday updates that have befallen us as they do almost every Saturday. In case you missed it take a look at these posts: Delta, you are “startin’ to damage my calm” with all these schedule / equipment changes & NO NOTICE AT ALL! ALERT! Delta schedule change Saturday has struck again! Please check all your flights! Rookie Wednesday: Delta Schedule change = MQM GOLD MINE! Understanding the power of the MIGHTY schedule change rule with Delta Air Lines! Now what is frustrating is, not things like no notice from Delta, or when I look at my list of many flights only a tiny red time notice on some of them as you see above, but that the reps this weekend seemed most unhelpful. Most times, as a…

You will never believe this! Apparently Delta has installed Delta Comfort+ (TM) seats on CRJ200s! No really. Look at my seat and my upgrade to 1A in C+ on a CRJ200. I am in shock (no not really because it is just an IT mess up but gosh it is funny, right). One reader on twitter said they should make the first two rows on CRJ200s to get free drinks. I like that idea. But for now, check your flights as mine changed and I bet some of yours did as well (see these posts): Delta, you are “startin’ to damage my calm” with all these schedule / equipment changes & NO NOTICE AT ALL! ALERT! Delta schedule change Saturday has struck again! Please check all your flights! Rookie Wednesday: Delta Schedule change = MQM GOLD MINE! Understanding the power of the MIGHTY schedule change rule with Delta Air Lines!…

Oh yeah it is just a 1 minute change but I will be calling. I am not going to ask for a flight change (but sometimes can get them, even for short-ish changes). I will not make this change myself, I will have a rep do it for me even for one like this! For you, I urge you to look over the posts below BEFORE you go calling Delta. Delta, you are “startin’ to damage my calm” with all these schedule / equipment changes & NO NOTICE AT ALL! ALERT! Delta schedule change Saturday has struck again! Please check all your flights! Rookie Wednesday: Delta Schedule change = MQM GOLD MINE! Understanding the power of the MIGHTY schedule change rule with Delta Air Lines! Once again folks you really should  spend part of your day today, first reading the above posts, then after you follow those directions, and have…

When I went to check on my flights for my trip to meet up with a bunch of readers and fellow bloggers in NYC I saw a tiny little red time stamp. Ruh roh! I know what that means! Yep, HUGE change to my flights that is almost a full hour later than booked. Yuck and no thank you. You see I want to have plenty of time to be on time and allow for traffic and such (and maybe a little time at the LGA Centurion as well – ya know, I just gotta)!  😉 I saw this very early this morning and called the Medallion line and they answered on the first ring. That was nice. And the rep when ahead and manually reissued the ticket due to the fact that it could be a LONG time with all the other ones in queue for reissue due to…

Yep, like a broken record, they are changing flights again. This time for me they were all minor changes that just required me to call the medallion line and have the rep “clean up” the reservation (friends don’t let friends click stuff on Delta.dumb). I would see all the links in THIS POST before you make any changes that are not minor ones like mine. There is, what seems like, a non-Targeted Delta promo. Yeah. But it is only for 1000 bonus SkyMiles. Booo! Hey free points are free points (after two tasks). Those of us who have a Delta AMEX card should be able to get the points simply by using the card and doing one of the other items on the list of partner qualifiers. I think a bunch of readers missed it so here is a reminder that you can get 2 free “top shelf” drinks with…

Folks, I think I just need to come up with a stock post and just use it to alert you to check your flights and what kind of mess Delta has in store for you. For now, here are a few posts worth peeking at: Delta, you are “startin’ to damage my calm” with all these schedule / equipment changes & NO NOTICE AT ALL! ALERT! Delta schedule change Saturday has struck again! Please check all your flights! Rookie Wednesday: Delta Schedule change = MQM GOLD MINE! Understanding the power of the MIGHTY schedule change rule with Delta Air Lines! So I would spend part of your day today, first reading the above posts, then after you follow those directions, and have checked your flights, call Delta. Why? We all know friends don’t let friends “click on stuff” on Delta.dumb. – René

If you were the 1 in 1,000 who happened to get an e-mail today from Delta about your schedule change – congratulations. For the rest of us we may only see, when you go and look at our list of upcoming flights on Delta.com, a tiny red number like you see in my list above. That is a WOOOOP – WOOOP – WOOOP alert for you to check if things have gone wonky in Delta schedule change land. Now first off, be sure to review THIS post from a few weeks ago as well as the link to the “Mighty Schedule Change Rule” before you ask any questions as those two posts hit most of the best bits about changes allowed with Delta. However, since I know some folks are a bit click lazy (I so sorry if that hurt a bit) then do notice the screen shot above. See…

Thank you Delta. I really mean this from the bottom of my heart! There are two things that always make me CRAZY when I have to call Delta. The first one is the fact that when you call in you have to choose 1 or 2, to either accept or decline, to take “a one question survey at the end of the call”. Delta at LONG LAST seems to have dumped this forced choice as now it just says “stay on the line if you want to take part after your call”. That is a #KeepClimbing change in my book. Now the second thing I hate is reps asking if all my hotels and car rentals are all set as I would never ever book that over the phone anyway! Most times schedule change Saturdays involve Delta partner airlines. However, today I found a change to a mainline trip into…

If you go and check your current reservations you may, or may not, see an UBER tiny little red time stamp on the side of one of your reservations. Please understand it is not like Delta IT tries to make it really clear you have been affected and wants to alert you to issues you may have. However, when you do click your reservations for full screen you will then possibly see a BUNCH of nasty changes. Like what? You may see changes that make connections impossible like a flight that now lands after the next flight has already departed. Yeah, I had a rep try to tell me she was going to charge me for a change. I asked her to explain how I could make my connection since it departed while I was still in the air from my previous flight. She then finally relented that they would…

Reader  Rob tweeted me today  about another round of “Schedule Change Saturday” (see Essentials post E8) messing with one of his mileage / vacation runs. It really can be maddening when you have picked the “perfect” flights and Delta decides to change when, and sometimes even where, a jet flies you. BTW this latest round may have affected your flights or it may not have! Also as I quick rookie-ish overview, sometimes Delta will e-mail you about changes and sometimes not. Sometimes they will just go ahead and change things for you and NOT tell you and you will see a green check change as you see above. Other times the change is so bad that there is a RED check mark and they want you to click things. I NEVER click things – I call. If I were you I would call and let a Delta rep click things…
