Well this was a fun surprise to get in my inbox from Karen Zachary of SkyMiles. No, not the 250 SkyMiles for filling out the survey but the chance to respond to the current state of affairs with the Delta loyalty program. This one was much like the one from last year I got. What I will do is this for today’s post, that is, put up all the slides then leave my comments and thoughts at the end. You can click on any of the slides for full screen shots and then click next, next, next to see them one by one. So there you are. A short list compared to some of them in the past I have done. First off, before you even ask, yes Delta does read these and does pay attention to the answers. Now I get there is a vast chasm of difference between…

As a review, take a look at the post from a few years back that extensively covered the SkyBucks Delta employee reward program. Now that you have reviewed that post, some updates. According to the AJC.com as well as other sources “we” are much more likely this year to participate in the surveys Delta is sending out after our trips, visits to Sky Clubs or other Delta interactions including flight issues. As many as one in five are now doing so for 2016. I always take the time to fill them out. Always! I love that by picking all 5’s that Delta folks can earn real cash from Delta. I even tend to use the “Strive for Five” both to commend Delta folks as well as drop that, on the rare occasion, that they seem to be striving for much less that five’s today. 😉 I am sure you have…

This is an interesting idea to drum up use of Trip Advisor. This link is from the Flying Blue news site (that is in English) but the link to take part is all in Dutch. So, I would suggests you use a browser like Google Chrome that can translate the page over to English. This promo seems very straight forward and is simple to sign up for. You use either your Google+ or Facebook profile to log in and then get to work reviewing places you have been on TripAdvisor. The page say it is to be in Dutch but TripAdvisor brings up places near where I live and has points for just about everything. I tested one review and it seemed to award me points. Not sure how long it takes for them to dump over to my Flying Blue account or if they even will but I will…

I hate to say, this email that went out today must have lit up the IHG computers like wildfire. I was on it right away and the survey was almost painfully slow to get to the end of with 40-ish slides to earn the 1,000 bonus points offered. I will let you click the slides and you can start a full screen slide show of all of them. There were a number of questions that got my attention. For example, many of us do use the “Cash & Points” feature to make up and get some extra points cheap (by canceling and getting all points back net result points at 7/10th of a cent each). They want to know if this is fair (YES YES it is)! Anyway take a look at them and then I will share some more thoughts on this survey. Interesting right? I do like some…

If you have not taken a peek at your upcoming Delta flight over the next few months you may want to now. Yesterday was another round of “Schedule Change Saturday” changes (see Essential tab E8 post). Why should you care? Delta may or may not e-mail you about the changes to your flights. Here is why you should care: Seats may be not what you picked Jet type may have changed Connection times may be illegal now A flight may be flown by another carrier Your flight may be eliminated Or a number of other pesky little issues. Many of these can be really frustrating, but this is why it is so important for you to log on NOW and see what kind of mess Delta has imposed upon you. The “perfect” seat you picked may be gone OR, even if the flight did not change much, Delta may have…

We all get travel surveys. Most regular Delta Points readers know that Delta Air Lines has a program called “Strive for Five” that rewards hard working Delta people with points that become real cash when they get high marks. I like these Delta surveys and I always just click 5’s as fast as I can and move on as Delta people are always (or just about always) just great to me. Hotel surveys I do fill out. They seem to be looked at and when, in the few times it happens, I have a bad SPG stay they tend to get back to me about my survey comments. Impressive that they do read them and look at them that closely. Other surveys that I do now and then when I have time to earn some points like e-Rewards do pay me in points for my time. I also weekly participate…

I am always intrigued by airline surveys. Delta, as we know, has been sending out surveys about SkyMiles as I posted about and as well as my fellow blogger Adam (yes THAT Adam). But thanks to my Lufthansa 1st class trip that ended up coding as a paid 1st class trip (told ya it pays to put in partner FF program number on business class & 1st class award tickets) and getting full points I have been looked at as “someone special” by Lufthansa. This latest one is really way out there and I doubt any of the ideas will make it to a real jet but wow are they interesting. Take a look at them slide by slide. Having train style sleeper suites and a seat to go back to that is a more standard domestic non-sleeper type seat is an amazing idea. Lufthansa already sorta does this on…

Delta brags about winning a bunch of awards on Delta.com. They even brag about in 2014 “The Freddie Awards: The Impact Award for Delta’s Crossover Rewards program with Starwood”. And, if you happen to call Delta right now you will likely hear a recorded message about the fact that you may be contacted by J.D. Power and Associates about your satisfaction with Delta. Most of us get the auto e-mail surveys about our flights. I have posted before that I 99% of the time just give all 5’s as fast as I can because with the “Strive for Five” program the Delta people can get reward points that becomes cash to them. I like rewarding  Delta people  as they just about always are great to me. But not always. Notice what happened to long time & loyal blog reader “Bob” on a recent flight and what went down: “I had…

I hope Karen Zachary, Managing Director SkyMiles, gets the numbers and results from this survey that I am sure she will get. I hope that seeing how upset we are at all the crushing changes will wake up the SkyMiles team that at some point enough is enough. Being an eternal optimist I hope Delta can fix, really, the only thing really broken at Delta – SkyMiles. Everything else, for the most part, just works smashingly. But let’s take a look at the targeted survey they are sending out and if you have not got it yet, think how you would vote (PS – You can do a slide show of all the shots in order by clicking the 1st slide). What is not to like? Delta is paying me $2.50 to complete a short survey? Sorry, 250 SkyMiles but then again $2.50 is the new norm right? 😉 I…
