Wednesday, December 3, 2015 by John @laptoptravel Who doesn’t like a Business/First Class Elite Mileage Run? Look what I found for you today; It is a First Class Delta Air Lines itinerary from Dallas to Las Vegas. You have a single day when this fare is the lowest; Depart on Sunday, December 20th and return the next day, Monday. I really tried to make this work through Detroit both ways, but it just isn’t price-friendly using that route. So, let’s connect through Minneapolis on the outbound and we can still get the Detroit connection on the return. You do have to spend a night in Las Vegas, but that can be cheap…or get another stay towards a hotel elite status you have/need. I recently stayed at a property in Vegas and they had a shuttle from the airport, a room rate of $29 and also gave me a $20 dining…
Saturday, November 28, 2015 by John @laptoptravel Let me follow-up my last Mileage Run post (which was San Diego to San Juan) with another trip headed to the warm, sunny shores of San Juan, Puerto Rico. This may not have the same appeal for Californians as for those stuck in the harsher northern climates, but it is still MQM’s on the cheap. Perhaps many of you could reposition to Las Vegas to take advantage of this, or to San Diego to hop on that other Mileage Run starting from there and get your MQM’s in before the year’s end. Now, let us look at our second Mileage Run to San Juan. Again, Delta is being very difficult when it comes to pushing some fare prices through. I worked the numbers and had this fare down to $415 but Delta (again, like with my previous post) keeps tossing me out…
Here is why I just love this one despite being a bit higher priced CPM than I would like. You can do the run in a day and be back home to JFK either early or late or even red-eye and be ready to start the next run right away (if you are up for “that” kind of fun) that is do one run Saturday and another one Sunday and pick up almost 9K MQMs! You could have time to go in to town or just spend some quality time at the LAS Centurion Lounge time as well. Here are the numbers: Cost: $261 4,496 MQMs at 5.8CPM BTW I am going to spend my afternoon looking for Delta hub runs today. Yes, you are welcome and enjoy! 🙂 – Rene Don’t miss a single run. A friend was looking for a run out of Dallas so I took a peak. This one is not bad. For a while I could find at a slightly higher CPM DFW-MSP-LAS out and back the same day but that seems gone now. Frustrating. Anyway, this is not bad. Also note I am showing you first the Las Vegas one and in coach and in 1st class. The coach one is the lowest / best yield at just 3.3CPM but 5.5CPM in 1st class is very respectable as well. Lastly, if you would rather go to SFO you can do that for more MQMs and at a similar CPM of just 3.6 cents. Either way do use with ITA Matrix the switch “DL+ X:DTW” both ways to find the days that has these routes. Lastly, I am posting the run at $183 as I just can not find open space…
