Many open dates next month and beyond!
Via Delta.com AM flights
Coach Y-Up fare!
itaMatrix fare rules
if booked via JustFly
This is a nice run with lots of possibilities. First you need some education. The above is an “UP Fare” (don’t know what that is? you need to read this post). It is good with Delta and Aeromexico. You can book a number of ways and the points you earn will depend on where and how you book. You can book:
- Direct on Delta.com
- Direct on Aeromexico.com
- Via OTA sites to either airline
- Via Amex Travel to spend points buying the ticket
If you look at the above screen shots you will see a number of important bits. You can book all AeroMexico flights via Delta.com but you will earn like you are flying Delta jets because it is a code-share (you earn on the marketed carrier not the metal you fly). If you do book on Delta.com (and you can see this is a coach fare basis i.e. a Y-Up fare) you only earn MQDs based on the real price of the ticket (minus taxes and fees). But if you book on AeroMexico you earn via the partner charts even if there are a few Delta metal flights mixed in. Lastly, you can start at TopCashBack and go to say JustFly.com and get $16 cash back booking that way. Many choices for those “in the know”.
Do keep in mind if you have not had the Delta Amex Reserve personal or business card you can pick that up and get 10,000 MQMs for the non-waived $450 first year fee (plus you get into the Sky Clubs for a year free when you fly Delta)!
Here are the lowest numbers I can find:
Cost in first class: $671
7455 MQMs at 9 CPM
If this is too crazy to try to book to get the best route (you can book a few other airports for close to the same numbers) please reach out to my friend Adam to help you book this!
Yuck. Yes yuck! But if you do not feel like donating an insane amount of money to Delta to keep your status, and you live near ATL, this could be a possible last minute 2018 Delta elite mileage run. Personally, flying all the way to Hawaii, I would stay at least a day or two. But if you want to turn and burn you can. If you have not had the Delta Amex Reserve personal … Continue reading
You may not want to spend Sunday the 30th in Oklahoma, but if you do not feel like donating an insane amount of money to Delta to keep your status, and you live near MSP, this could be a cheaper last minute 2018 Delta elite mileage run. If you have not had the Delta Amex Reserve personal or business card you are just about out of time to pick that up and get 10,000 MQMs … Continue reading
Wow this one is simply insane how good it is and could be a great start to those who want status in 2019/2020 (you can find these for this year 2018 at a higher price – but still not bad fyi). None of the really cheap ones are “turn and burn” runs but why not stay a few days in sunny California or Puerto Rico while earning a ton of miles. There are several open … Continue reading
It is crunch time so “value” that is cost per mile to earn your MQMs matters little from this point out. The point of this one is you can at any coach price score 10,000 Delta MQMs quickly. If you need them, get ready for some time on a Delta jet! Do keep in mind if you have not had the Delta Amex Reserve personal or business card you still have time to pick that … Continue reading
I don’t normally play requests but since I am dying to visit Kansas City and get some BBQ one day I am tossing this one up for my Delta readers in MCI! The coach one is E Basic but you can run it out and back in a day – nice! The 1st class one for just over 9CPM I like better but you red-eye back. You have more dates you can play with as … Continue reading
There is only one day in 2018 where this run is sub $100 but a bunch of dates you can score this out and back run for just a few bucks more. While I am no fan of E Basic fares, since you have no shot at an upgrade or seat choice, you may want to pay about $20 more for main cabin seats as the base price of about 4.3CPM is not bad to … Continue reading
This one is just on the edge of greatness i.e. sub 8CPM in business class. I am no fan of red-eyes but this work and you get all this done in about 24 hours of flying and it is a TON of MQMs. Oh and you get a few hours in the sun in SJU! It is for next week so I would hurry to book this if you want it. Do keep in mind … Continue reading
Holy Cow! This is amazing and WAY under my goal of 8CPM in paid 1st class and all in 1 day out and back. Oh and not just dates to end 2018 but a bunch in Jan 2019 (and onward) if you want to book a bunch of these to get a start on your 2019/2020 elite totals. Do keep in mind if you have not had the Delta Amex Reserve personal or business card … Continue reading
Call this one a few fun days in the amazing and beautiful city of Barcelona with a bunch of elite points in return. Oh and you get the “joy” (said with a bit of a grin) to fly JOON and an Air France A380 on the way back (Delta jets on the way over). At 6 CPM this run would be way to high for me but at year end – it is what it … Continue reading
I like both of these and there are a few other days it could work for a few bucks more in December. My goal for 1st class runs is sub 8CPM and this one almost does just that! Also it is out and back (yes a red-eye but no need for a hotel). The coach one is MUCH cheaper and at 5CPM not bad (I like sub 4CPM). Do keep in mind if you have … Continue reading
I like this one (the 1st class one that is). My goal for 1st class runs is sub 8CPM and this one almost hits that – and this late in the year that is saying something! Yes you do have to overnight but it give you a chance to visit Hard Eight BBQ near the airport and maybe the new DFW Centurion on the way home. Oh and you get Breakfast on the way to … Continue reading
While the ticket price for this one is really cheap, the cost per mile is a tad bit high at just under 7CPM for coach (I like under 4CPM). But it has some things I like and make it worth consider. First off it is an “after work” one day out an back run. That has value. You can do it two days in a row and pick up over 2600 MQMs. It is the … Continue reading
