The other day, acually the SAME DAY as the latest in a never ending string of crushing SkyMiles devaluations, I got this kind reminder that Delta HATES small business owners. No? You bet they do. Take a look.
You see even if you spend $100,000 flying Delta this year, and are part of Skybonus, they are going to kick you out at the end of this year. You must have at least 5 people who work for you who will fly Delta at least once to stick in the program after 31DEC15.
I really appreciate Delta reminding me of these facts on the same day I learned all the other news that made me want to reach for an air sickness bag. Ah well.
Then today, I get a helpful (and maybe targeted) reminder that Delta has a bunch of new markets that I can get bonus Skybonus points for if I register and then buy and fly. Always keep this in mind to check your Skybonus page now and then for new promotions because you MUST register before you buy to get in on the deals.
Are you part of Skybonus? Will you be out at the end of 2015? If yes to the latter be sure you spend all your points before the “ball drops” on new year’s eve! – René
In case you have not noticed, Delta has spiffed up the graphics on the Skybonus website. Not much new as far as functionality, but the info is a bit simpler to see. These changes are good and needed since so many folks may still have well over a year’s worth of missing Skybonus points or may have even been incorrectly kicked out of the program due to missing flights that never posted. But on … Continue reading
Just a heads up, if you are looking to join Skybonus they have a new 5,000 bonus point code for using the promotion code: SKYAPR15 in the current month’s SKY Magazine. 5k seems to be about the best they promo for a very long time now. Also keep in mind there are sweeping changes coming on 1JAN16 to Skybonus, but even if you only get bonus points THIS year why not grab them for free … Continue reading
Skybonus has been a very nice way to triple dip flying on Delta. That is, you earn a Skymile for your ticket, you could earn a Crossover Reward as a Medallion and then if your company was included in Skybonus you could earn Skybonus points as well. The latter, as the new current Skymiles program, was very much MQD spend determined. Then, to weed out undesirables, Delta came up with an MQD spend number of … Continue reading
While Skybonus points do take longer and cost more to spend, they are “free” and another great way to triple-dip your Delta flights along with Skymiles and Crossover Rewards. Here is the latest list: DOUBLE SKYBONUS POINTS ON SELECT ROUTES. All flights your company takes until March 31 earn double points! Your company can earn double SkyBonus points for each nonstop purchased ticket between select routes from now until March 31, 2015. Travel can include … Continue reading
A few years ago, this would have been “smashingly good news” as our friends across the pond might say (and if you have a Delta PVT jet card I bet you say phrases like that). Today, however, this announcement is only really good news for big spenders at Delta as you now get even more Skybonus points. In a nutshell, as I know your time is valuable, you are earning a big chunk of Skybonus … Continue reading
Just a quick update from 32k (on American no less) that Delta’s Skybonus has a bunch of new promotions for bonus miles. Some bits. You must register before you buy tickets and you know you never know when some route may or may not happen so just click all the ones in your account (must be logged in to see them btw): https://skybonus.delta.com/bizListPromotions.sb Also, be very careful and do check if you have any points … Continue reading
I like this one. Not only is this what has become the stock monthly Skybonus promo, that is 5,000 points for new members, but for all of us who are already members a chance to win ETVs and 200,000 bonus points. That is neat! Here are the details: “Enroll by Sept. 30 with promotion code SWEEPS14 for your chance to win. Your company will also earn an extra 5,000 points with first flight.” & … Continue reading
I know that this year (and last) there are times when promos are targeted. I am hoping this is not the case today, but please advise me if you don’t see the same massive list of promos I see in mine. In a nutshell Delta is offering, on most of them, double points and most fare classes are included, but code shares are excluded. These tend to have so many more restrictions than I … Continue reading
I am clearly a big fan of Skybonus and it, along with CrossoverRewards is a great way to “extra” dip each flight you take on Delta. Now some may not consider Silver Medallion status all that great since the largest rewards and recognition from Delta starts with the Gold Medallion level. However, for Delta now and then flyers Silver Medallion (FO) status truly is a sweet perk and if you work that status the right … Continue reading
First, just as an FYI, I can refer you to Skybonus and we can BOTH get 5,000 Skybonus points if you then buy a ticket and fly by the end of June. If you want to get in on the deal and it ends TOMORROW. Next, let me ask you a question. Have you ever had a ticket reissued due to a schedule change, SDC or other event and Delta creates a new ticket … Continue reading
I got an email the other day with the reminder of the MQD spend requirement to remain year after year a member of the Skybonus program. Yes, it is $5000 and I cleared that just by a hair for last year I am happy to say. This year, it will be close once again! Anyway, Delta has loaded what may now be one of the best values for Skybonus points. Keep in mind as … Continue reading
There are two new Skybonus deals that popped up in my account today. Like all things Skybonus you have to make sure you register for any promotions BEFORE you fly. It also seems some of the latest are targeted, but it is worth checking. The next one is just stunning. Thanks to NAI there are some major fare wars to Scandinavia like the one above for just $492. The latest one gives some staggering MQMs … Continue reading
I love Skybonus. The rewards are not amazing and it takes a lot of points to redeem for anything other than drink coupons but the instruments are relatively easy to use and why not get the points free as with Skybonus points, CrossoverRewards and Skymiles you are 3x-ing each flight. The latest round are all double or 2x promotions (you have to be logged in 1st btw) and there is no risk in registering for … Continue reading
For most of last year Skybonus has run a 5000 point sign-up bonus for new businesses who join the program and fly at least one flight. Each month in SKY Magazine there was a new ad with a new code (basically just changing the month). For now the new campaign seems to be referral based to get bonus points. So, I can refer you or if readers want to put in their own email to … Continue reading
