With a HT to FT for this find on this one there is a hot price offer that IS IN E BASIC so no upgrades unless you want to pay about $30 more for the ticket (something to think about). This one is amazing as you can do it all in one long day without an overnight needed if you go on the weekdays show. I can only get the price to HOLD via PriceLine as on Delta.com it jumps it up to X class so just know that works if you want upgrades but use PriceLine if you want cheapest price. I have not yet tested this with FlexPerks points but you could maybe do two days back to back as one single 20k ticket. Here are the numbers: Cost: $198 5,710 MQMs at 3.5CPM via SLC 2x Please FIRST click the PRICELINE link HERE Next come back and…

This is a the high end of my CPM limit of 5CPM for a hub run. I would think about this one this way maybe. A one way ticket to MCO, then do the MCO run, overnight, fly home i.e. do two runs back to back from MSP and pick up over 10K+ mqms for under $600 (or just get a Delta Reserve card below and skip the flying)? Clearly this is better from MCO as you can just do it in one long day. And again, shockingly, you can simply book this on Delta.com with the multi-segment tool page and add SLC as connection point (see big red arrows above). There are scattered dates in OCT, NOV & DEC and if you need help how to use MATRIX to search that is below in this post and every post. Anyway here are the numbers: Cost: $291 5,840 MQMs at…

Location is just about across from the tram stop so you can take it from the central terminal area one stop or from the other regional jet gates the other way. You can get in with a number of AMEX cards or, if you are a Skyteam elite plus status and are on a coach or anyone on a business class international departing (or connecting) ticket, you can also get in free. The layout is in an L…

Its back with a HT to reader Scott. There are, slightly playing with prices, a number of ways to play with this one. You can do it all in 1st class in one long day or in coach (just avoid E BASIC fare class flights). If you are a GM+ I sure would think about coach as weekend UG chances are much better. Then again, for the price, the 1st class MQMs is much better. Just consider both.  Also consider staying over a day if you like visits to the Centurion Lounge DFW and HardEightBBQ near Dallas airport (just a short UBER or LYFT away folks) Maxtrix is not showing all the dates at this lowest price so play with the dates you want and see if it pops up. Anyway here are the 1st class numbers: Cost: $389 5,938 MQMs at 6.5CPM Bookable direct on Delta.com or example on…

I had a request the other day for an MSP run. This one is really nice but I can only find it one single day this month (the 23rd). At sub 6CPM in 1st class this is a real winner as for a hub run I would even consider sub 5CPM in coach not a bad deal. Plus, you can do this all in one really long day. You will get two Delta breakfasts and one Dinner (the final flight departs too late for full meal service but you may get a snack-ish meal as it is before 9PM). I have included a coach link for other dates and a C+ link but the coach one is EVIL E class so I would avoid that one and the CPM cost is MEH anyway. If you are happy with C+, with a shot at a 1st class UG, then maybe consider…

Detroit DTW Central concourse A main Sky Club Detroit DTW North & South concourse A Sky Club Detroit DTW B/C Delta Sky Club – Regional Jets Concourse Minneapolis Central concourse Sky Club Minneapolis B/C concourse Sky Club Minneapolis Central concourse Escape Lounge Yes it is embarrassing I have not yet finished all the reviews for the DTW & MSP clubs. Time to catch up and start with the centrally located Minneapolis club just to the left when you exit security. I have a number of thoughts about this club but will save them for the end of the post. One thing to notice right away is the entrance is tucked away a bit and it is easy to miss it. Also, the entrance area can get crowded at times with lines out the door as well as folks exiting via this small-ish area. Keep this in mind. You can get…

If you tried to visit the Delta Sky Club in MSP in C (right across from the tram) this week from Monday to Thursday you were told it was closed for some “enhancements” (a word that creates terror in all Delta flyers’ minds). So just what enchantments you ask? I was told no changes to the club area itself and that no changes are planned for the area we enjoy. These changes this round were to the kitchen and the construction required the club to be closed until today. The result was, this past week, that Delta suggested you go visit the main larger “F/G” club instead that is a considerable distance from the C club. The result of that, as you would expect, was considerable over crowding to an already usually over crowded Sky Club. I was there on Monday and chose instead to go to the almost empty…

Detroit DTW Central concourse A main Sky Club Detroit DTW North & South concourse A Sky Club Detroit DTW B/C Delta Sky Club – Regional Jets Concourse Minneapolis Central concourse Sky Club Minneapolis B/C concourse Sky Club Minneapolis Central concourse Escape Lounge As a prelude to this series of Delta Sky Club reviews I have included the old ex-NWA hubs into one review as there are only a handfull of Sky Clubs at both of these airports and it seems more efficient to have them all in one place. Also, I have included the lounge for the Sky Clubs to strive for the completion from the Manchester Group Escape Lounge that is now open in MSP very near the main Delta Sky Club. You can get in with a number of AMEX cards or, if you are a Skyteam elite plus status and are on a coach or anyone on…

A reader wanted a flight tonight from LAX for a quick year end mileage run. Ugg. I did not find much. But in my search I did find this little gem for you in the LAX area. You can work it a bunch of ways including, at the lowest CPM, with an overnight. Or, for a slightly higher price red-eye out Friday night and be back home Saturday. Either one works at a decent price. Be sure to pick via DTW & MEM for max MQMs and lowest CPM (on page two of Kayak link below) The other way is a 1st class run to Kansas City. At 9CPM it is a bit high but for a 24hr turn and burn with a hotel overnight, I know this kind of run is better for some so I included it in the post. Here are the lowest coach numbers: Cost: $189…

You know what is nice in January?  Dinner in South Beach. You know what is not nice outside in January? Yeah dinner anywhere near MSP 🙂 (unless you are in a ski suit that is)! Now personally I would pick the one I have above as you can then have lunch at the LGA Centurion on the way down before your dinner on the beach in MIA. Now if you in Miami and for some reason want to go the OTHER way that works too all in one day at an even lower price some days ($188) Here are the lowest numbers: Cost: $198 4,235 MQMs at 4.5 CPM Bookable FROM MSP on Delta.com via KAKAY.com <-LINK Bookable FROM MIA on Delta.com via KAKAY.com <-LINK Need a cheap hotel in MIA or MSP? Detroit DTW Central concourse A main Sky Club Detroit DTW North & South concourse A Sky Club Detroit DTW B/C Delta Sky Club – Regional Jets Concourse Minneapolis Central concourse Sky Club Minneapolis B/C concourse Sky Club Minneapolis Central concourse Escape Lounge Choice is good. In Minneapolis you have very few choices in lounges to enjoy. If you are flying Delta, you have two Sky Clubs to choose from. You have a very tiny, and often packed, United club if flying United. Now those flying any airline have a new choice and it is worth a visit. As you can see it is located in Terminal one on the mezzanine level, just above the concourse E entrance and next to the PGA golf shop (just look for the big GOLF logo) Then after either the stairs or elevator to floor 3 (main level is level 2) you are there. I…

Only seeing one date that is 21DEC but I just LOVE this one. Why? Price is not bad. CPM is very respectable for an all 1st class run. You can do it ALL in just one long day and pick up a nice bit of MQMs in Delta 1st class style! You are very likely off this week so why not fly all day Monday then enjoy the rest of the week! Plus, if you happen to have some kind of Delta voucher you can burn this can be REALLY a cheap fun run. But, if you don’t want to fly around all day, remember the Delta AMEX Reserve card <-LINK, for the $450 fee, and 1st purchase gets you 10,000 MQMs. Clear? Way cheaper than this run and more points! Here are the 1st class numbers for this Delta run: Cost: $541 in 1st class 6,738 MQMs at 8CPM…

OK I admit this is just crazy and maybe that is why I am posting it. It will take you 3 days of flying and you will have to overnight in MIA for 2 days between flights. So, that does change the cost structure. But if you are flush with hotel points, and need MQMs, this could work for you maybe. Plus, if there are issues that affect your ability to finish all the legs it is all on ONE PNR so you could maybe grip for route credit if you have to change it up mid-run. Also, clearly, there are a ton of bumpertunites with this many segments. Lastly, it would be fun to try to see where the fare break is for Regional Upgrade certs 🙂 Also a bit HT to my friend John from Laptop Travel for the idea to get this MSP insane run going. Here are…

If you are a Delta flyer you have very few options in Minneapolis. When it comes to lounges you have two Delta Sky Clubs to choose from. While I like both clubs in MSP, neither of them have showers which is really frustrating for such a huge Delta international gateway hub. During the past year, Delta has really improved the Sky Club experience systemwide. For example, they are now sourcing local craft beers and even offer much improved food choices (including new buffets at some clubs in ATL & JFK). I have tested and found wifi speeds are dramatically better than in the past and they have even added passwords to protect unauthorized use. Overall the Sky Clubs are one of the areas Delta can be proud of and should be commended for #KeepClimbing improvements. But now in MSP Delta will see some competition in the lounge space in 2016.…

BOOK FAST this one will not last long as it is a heck of a deal. Yes you are talking an overnight in DFW but let me think about this for just a second – you get to spend the day you arrive (if you are smart enough to have access) at the Centurion Dallas as well as the day you depart. You can do this run on a weekday or weekend. HELLO! At almost 4CPM at a Delta hub airport? Hello! Anyway, do notice Delta.dumb is not going to price this right. Start at Kayak. com and use their multi-day search to find them. Here are the numbers Cost $163 3,958 MQMs at 4.1CPM Bookable on Delta.com via KAYAK.com Example 1 DEC weekend via KAYAK <–LINK Example 2 NOV weekday via KAYAK <–LINK Example 3 NOV weekday via KAYAK <–LINK Now the way do you do this, if you…
