The mileage run I blogged earlier today is available for the reverse route, too!
If you’re in (or can get to) the New York area on December 6, I found an MQD run on AeroMexico that may interest you.
Rejoice, red-eye haters! Delta will launch a daytime flight between JFK and London Heathrow (LHR) next year.
Delta has preemptively issued a weather waiver for New York City area airports potentially affected by storms tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13.
Check out this great deal for a long weekend getaway: New York JFK to Madrid for well under $400 on Delta and KLM!
Welcome to a regular feature on the Renés Points blog. This blog series covers in a “rookie” way either a Delta or travel related theme and attempts to break down to a basic level each topic. You can read up on all the previous posts HERE. Now on to this featured topic.
You’re excited! Why? You’re flying a Delta domestic route on a plane outfitted with Delta One seats — and have a seat assignment up front!
Wow. Parts of the Eastern Seaboard just can’t catch a break. There were storms last week. Then searing heat this weekend. Now, storms are again taking aim at parts of the northeast.
Multiple news outlets are reporting that a Delta Air Lines pilot arrested a passenger who tried breaking into the cockpit of flight DL 579 this morning.
Saturday, March 5, 2016 by John @laptoptravel So following up after our incredible “Houston to Hong Kong $589 and 17246 EQMs at 3.4CPM (Potential of 34492) Miles American Airlines Elite Mileage Run” post from a couple of weeks ago, I am featuring another another American Airlines Mileage Run for you AAdvantage members (or wannabees.) Here is a chance to escape the winter blues in New York and hop on a plane to Miami and spend a night and the next day to enjoy the sunshine, warmth and beach before you have to return. A worthy Mileage Run, I hope you would agree. This one is priced at a CRAZY $72 for New York’s JFK airport to Miami. You can do a same-day, if you really want to, but why I ask. Although you are flying in ‘Q’ fare class you still earn your Elite Qualifying Miles as shown: In addition, Executive Platinum…
Monday, February 8, 2016 by John @laptoptravel Here is another great domestic mileage run that René did just last week. Another almost same-day run, although it really is an overnight flight between New York City and New Orleans. Leave either at 7:00am or 11:00am and connect through Salt Lake City and then you are off to New Orleans. You can a short night in New Orleans or a long layover and get back to New York early the next evening, around 6:00pm. 6,834 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM’s) will be your reward for this quick trip on Delta Air Lines. Now, I have only found one date that works; April 6th with a return on the 7th. Let me caution anyone thinking they might get upgraded to First Class on these flights. It is probably not going to happen flying into and out of Salt Lake City. One of my greatest discomforts…
Wednesday, January 6, 2016 by John @laptoptravel Here is a quick Mileage Run on Delta Air Lines. You can do a weekday or weekend run. The weekend run allows you to depart after work Friday night, and arrive in New York Saturday morning. From there you can turn around in about two hours or stay a couple more hours (perhaps visit the JFK SkyClub…take a shower grab some breakfast.) If you choose a mid-week schedule you can actually stay most of the day in New York and catch an early evening return flight to Phoenix. For the maximum Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) you have to select routes that include Los Angeles (LAX) as a connection in both directions. Doing this raises your MQMs to 5,950. This is a “Pay With Miles” eligible flight so you can “buy down” the fare with your available SkyMiles. If you…
