Some cartoons and other kids-oriented programming my daughter watches on Disney+, YouTube Kids, and similar platforms already introduced her — virtually — to parts of the world.
During a recent weekend mileage run/very mini-vacation to the UK, I enjoyed a night at the Holiday Inn Express London Heathrow T4, conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Terminal 4.
This airport hotel is a fantastic option if you have a long layover in London and don’t want to schlep into the city. The property is clean and very new. The staff is quite welcoming and friendly. My room was nice, homey, and comfortable.
Food and beverage were — fine.
We’ve posted a number of mileage runs with long Heathrow layovers or options to spend the night. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Like most airport hotels, it’s not a destination property where I’d vacation for days on end. (“Hey, kids! How excited are you to stay for our week at the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow?!” crickets)
That being said, this is what I experienced during my visit.
I know, I know. Another LAX to London mileage run. But this one’s in January 2020 — and counts toward your 2021 Delta Air Lines SkyMiles Medallion status!
Check it out: $362.65 for 11,925 MQM.
I swear I’m trying to find mileage runs for places other than California and London.
But this is what’s turning up for me — and if you need some MQM in the next two months, this is a pretty sweet little score.
For those needing MQM before year’s end — or people padding rollover MQM balances — consider this great deal from Orange County, California (SNA) to London Heathrow (LHR).
It currently costs only $429.65 — and yields a very nice 12,091 MQM!
The Airbus 220 — a small-ish plane Delta introduced into its fleet this year — received ETOPS certification from Transport Canada.
So do you think we’ll ride A220s across the ocean?
Here’s a nice Delta weekend elite mileage run from the Los Angeles area to London Heathrow — and one sparing you the mess at LAX.
For those needing MQM, you might want to jump on this deal I found valid for only one weekend!
Delta has elite weekend mileage runs to London Heathrow during the first two weekends of November — including a pair of very nice deals from Burbank the second weekend!
Delta flyers in the Midwest: we found two London winter weekend mileage runs for you – and one involves an A350! Our previous London mileage post was good for West Coast and East Coast travelers (especially those based in Delta’s official new hub). But I felt bad because there was nothing for our Midwestern readers. But I just found these deals from Chicago O’Hare to London Heathrow for ~$448! One of the options includes a ride on the new A350! They’re Main Cabin “V” fares and bookable on Delta.com. The trip starts Friday afternoon, December 6 from ORD and returns late Sunday evening, December 8. You have Saturday afternoon and evening to enjoy London. Winter markets will be open — that alone is a great excuse to go! Several different routings are available for this price. There are some $10 cheaper options but the CPM isn’t as appealing as these.…
A couple of interesting mileage runs to London — including one from LAX alternative Burbank! — crossed our radars! Hollywood-Burbank (BUR) to London Heathrow (LHR) Mileage Run: 12,306 MQM at 4.1 CPM! Flights in and out of BUR have traditionally been a tad spendy. For the past dozen or so years, Delta’s service has consisted of a handful of daily regional connection flights to SLC. But now that ATL mainline service begins July 8, the mothership seems eager to fill that route! Here’s what I found: Departing Friday, November 8 Returning Sunday, November 10 Outbound: BUR-SLC-CDG-LHR. Return: LHR-ATL-BUR MQMs: 12,306 Main Cabin Cost: $510.43 (4.1 CPM!) Basic Economy Cost: $370.43 (3 CPM!) This trip is bookable on delta.com. The Paris to London hop is operated by Air France; all the other flights are Delta metal. When I checked, there were several departure times available: 7:10 AM, 10:19 AM, and 1:00…
