The CLUB at SEA near gate A11 review (10)

This past weekend I reviewed the new AMEX Centurion Studio at Seattle’s SEA airport near B3. I was not impressed with this lounge. A better choice, that I would recommend, is walking to A11 and checking out The CLUB at SEA instead.

That is, if you have the free Priority Pass that comes with the non-Delta AMEX Platinum cards, personal or business, you see above that gets you access to The CLUB at SEA.

While not exactly “next door”, if you are a Delta flyer with some extra time, this lounge really is a nice choice.

It is located one floor up so either take the elevator or stairs up.

The staff was very welcoming and the lounge was not very busy (nor are they often very busy I was told). Nice.

There is no shower in this lounge, but bathroom and lockers are available for use.

Food is Skyclub “like”, that is, soup and light snacks. If you are looking for a salad you will need to go to the Skyclub or Alaska Boardroom.

There is, however, unlike the Centurion, a full bar.

And if you are looking for a mimosa, yeah, you can get one of those here. Plus, as you can see, they have a neat way to provide power all over the club via pop-up power outlets in the tables. Impressive.

While not a “huge” lounge there it did feel spacious to me and you have either a view of the concourse on one side and outside on the other.

Bottom line is there are a bunch of lounge choices at SEA airport. If you are arriving at one of the “satellite S gates” you may need to go to either the current Skyclub or the smaller The CLUB at SEA but if not, check this one out – I think you will like it! – Rene

  1. Aside from the bar, how is The Club better than the AMEX lounge? The only food options are packets of cheap mass produced junk food. At the Centurion Lounge they have all local artisan Seattle products. All the baked goods and granola is by the awesome (and pricey) Macrina Bakery. The yogurt by Ellenos (always a line at their storefront in Seattle). Jones Soda, Tim’s potato chips, Cafe Vita Coffee. As well as a selection of grilled vegetables and other snacks. All real high quality food, compared to the pack of various Nabisco products you get at The Club.

  2. Aaron K – Sounds like personal bias. Someone who doesn’t drink like me would rate AMEX Lounge higher than The Club. On the other hand…..

  3. @Aaron @DDiamond – Agree but I would like ANY club at SEA to have “real” food like the other Centurion clubs. AMEX had a chance to, like the other Centurions, to simply CRUSH all the other clubs at SEA. IMO they did not. Bottom line is we have a bunch of just “OK” choices in SEA.

  4. @Rene – While I admit, the Centurion lounges that I’ve been to (SFO and Vegas) are in a whole other category. However when I compare it to the other lounges at SEA (Delta, Alaska, The Club), it’s at least as good (I happen to think better). I feel you gave it a bad review not because it didn’t live up to other SEA lounges, but because it didn’t live up to other Centurion lounges.

  5. I was there a few days ago.

The United club was among the worst. Centurian was better than UA but was also the least impressive Cent of all the ones I’ve been in (LAS, DFW, LGA, MIA)
