  1. Saw that Delta sale yesterday. Picked up a nice trip to AMS out of CMH for $552. Now just need to hope I get an upgrade. I almost never get deals out of CMH so when I see them I have to jump. Looking to see where else I can book today.

  2. When United’s health-challenged CEO SWORE that the airline had turned a new page, I truly, truly, truly wanted to believe him but knew better. Because the forcible removal of the physician was a situation with extenuating circumstances, his too-little-too-late apology at least offered something. After all, everyone knows that the US-based legacy carriers have flawed leadership.

For passengers who thwarted a human and environmental disaster of historic proportions to be treated like dirt means that no one learned a thing and precisely ZERO remedies were taken within the The Unfriendly Skies.

I remember feeling my belly drop when I read the transcript from the South American soccer team charter crash flight data recorder earlier this year and feeling the pilot grasp the fact that he was out of fuel and that all souls aboard his aircraft were doomed. This situation at Newark was eerily similar and yet nothing has changed.

    Avarice kills!

In response, I have mirrored Mr. Brumfield’s self-imposed blockade against United. My life is not worth lower airfares or more convenient connections.

To anyone reading my thoughts here: please, please, please, please… ALWAYS purchase travel insurance or pay for the trip in full with a card which provides it. Had I been in the Brumfields’ place, I would have purchased everything with my Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa Infinite Card and immediately booked seats on a different airline in order to make my cruise. The card would have covered the replacement airfare and replacement clothing for the lost luggage along with a decent meal and hotel stay if necessary, plus car fare over to JFK where we would have boarded Delta metal.

Neither my wife nor I would have spent one second sleeping in the terminal. You can believe that.
