Chase and Lyft have teamed up to offer some cardholders increased earnings when using their eligible Chase card for purchases with the rideshare company.

They announced today that 12 Chase cards will receive the benefits starting this Sunday, January 12. (Which, probably not coincidentally, is the same day the Chase Sapphire Reserve raises its annual fee. We’ll talk about that in the morning.)

The participating cards are Chase-branded. (i.e. no airline or hotel partner credit cards).

If you don’t have one of the below cards, it might be worth your while to get one — especially if you use Lyft with some frequency. (Personally, I’m a fan of the Chase Freedom Flex card because of its quarterly bonuses.)

Per Lyft, “all of the ride cost must be successfully charged to a valid US-issued Chase credit card or added directly or via Apple Pay or Google Pay.”

These elevated earnings are in effect from January 12 through March 2022. So it isn’t necessarily a “forever” thing. But if all goes well, perhaps they’ll extend the deal indefinitely.

  1. I thought Rakuten was giving $1.00 cash back for Lyft. That’s what i received for my last ride. I guess it varies at different times like other stores/categories.
