EL AL, the National Airline of Israel, is apparently suspending operations indefinitely.
Airline Geeks’ John McDermott reports that “(all) flights, including passenger and cargo services, have been stopped” and that airline CEO Gonen Usiskhin, “ordered all of the company’s aircraft to return to Israel.”
Mr. McDermott noted that only 100 pilots continued to work at the airline since the precipitous drop in worldwide travel — while the rest of the aviators were stuck with unpaid leave.
Yikes. Here’s hoping the airline rebounds.
